Membership
The Learning Assistance Association of New England is a non-profit organization dedicated to the acceptance, advancement, and improvement of developmental education through research and practice. Developmental education encompasses programs working with at-risk or underprepared students at secondary and postsecondary levels to attain the skills necessary to be successful in their educational endeavors. Membership is comprised of a broad spectrum of educators who work in the public and private sectors of the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).
BENEFITS OF LAANE MEMBERSHIP
- The LAANE newsletter published three times a year (winter, spring, and fall)
- Annual fall conference in New England

- Recognition awards for educators, administrators, students, and politicians who advocate for developmental education
- Networking with other educators at the state regional, national, and international level
Professionals who register and pay for the annual conference or a regional workshop receive a one year membership with their conference/workshop registration and payment.

Attendance at the Annual Conference or a Regional Workshop comes with Membership. If you are unable to attend one of these events but would like to support LAANE, we encourage you to become a member. Membership runs from November 1st through October 31st.
